Providing Personal Information
When submitting a mortgage application through the Rates Mortgage website you will be asked to provide basic personal information. This information is necessary in order for us to complete the selected service. Basic inquiries will include the need for rudimentary contact items such as: full name, home address, e-mail address, and work and home phone numbers. More detailed applications will also necessitate the need for personal financial information. This can and will include: current mortgage and property details, liabilities, assets, and Social Insurance Number.

The more completely your application is filled, correspondingly, the more accurately and completely Rates Mortgage will be equipped to facilitate your request and provide the desired services you are seeking.

Statistical Data
In order to better understand the needs of our clientele, the Rates Mortgage website systematically collects anonymous statistical information regarding its usage. This includes items such as the browsers (ex. Internet Explorer) used to visit our site, the site from which the visitor was linked to our site, the pages of our site being viewed or used, and other related information. This system cannot identify you personally. It is just a means of becoming better informed, and thus better equipped, to tailor our services to the needs of our clients.

Similarly, Rates Mortgage compiles information collected from our mortgage inquiries and applications to create province and municipality-specific statistics. Again this information is gathered anonymously and does not identify the users personally. Disclosure to Affiliates and Service Providers

Rates Mortgage reserves the right to disclose any information collected upon receipt of your application or inquiry to CEG service providers in order to perform a service or function to fulfill the client’s request. In the case where Rates Mortgage requires the use of a non-affiliated service provider, the service provider selected will be restricted from using the client’s non-public personal information, excepting an action on the behalf of CEG or as permitted or required by law.

Disclosure to CEG service providers is a necessity in order for Rates Mortgage to have access to the financial services that will provide the client exposure to the best possible rates, services and mortgage options available.

The “Tell a Friend” Link
When you refer someone to the Rates Mortgage Website via the "Tell a Friend" link, your name and email is recorded solely for purposes of email forwarding. This information is not released to third party companies.

Removal of Personal Information

A request to have all the personal information you have submitted to CEG through the Rates Mortgage website can be handled by CEG’s privacy officer (for contact information, scroll to the bottom of this page). In the case of such a request, Rates Mortgage will be obliged to remove digitally all information regarding the client that it holds stored. However, Rates Mortgage does not have the capability to purge information stored in the systems of its affiliates, service providers or other financial institutions that may have obtained your personal information in the process of providing their services as requested.
